I think what you posted was very reasonable. However, what about this? what if you added a little content? I am not saying your information is not solid., however what if you added a post title to possibly grab a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little boring. You might glance at Yahoo's home page and note how they create news headlines to grab people to open the links. You might add a video or a picture or two to get readers interested about everything've got to say. Just my opinion, it could bring your website a little bit more interesting.
