I think what you said was very reasonable. However, think on this, suppose you composed a catchier post title? I am not saying your content is not solid, however suppose you added a post title that grabbed folk's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda boring. You should look at Yahoo's front page and see how they create post headlines to get people to click. You might add a video or a related pic or two to get readers interested about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it might make your blog a little livelier.
